A few simple habits help your wood board stay ready for daily use. Wash gently, dry thoroughly, and condition when the surface needs it.
After each use
Hand wash with mild soap and water, then rinse and dry promptly with a clean towel. Do not put wood boards in the dishwasher or leave them soaking in water.
Let both sides dry
Stand the board so air can reach both faces. Once fully dry, store it in a dry place away from sustained heat and standing water.
Condition as needed
When the wood looks or feels dry, begin with a clean, completely dry board. Apply Windset board conditioner with a soft cloth, allow it to absorb for at least an hour, then buff away excess. Condition all wood surfaces and reapply as needed rather than following a rigid calendar.
